THE GUIDE'S ADVICE

„Cippo” is the name of a steep climbing road dedicated to “the pirate” Marco Pantani, who used to train there before every big contest. Today the cippo is frequented by numerous hobby cyclists.
Be careful when descending, the road is narrow and dirty and there is a gate halfway down.
As you reach the village Carpegna, follow the signs indicating “Cippo di Carpegna”.
You can stop for a meal  at the Ristorante il Mandriano on the Cantoniera  mountain pass (km 74).
Drinkable water sources along the way:
• Before joining the little town of San Leo, on the right, km 44
• Village of Villagrande, km 52
• Cantoniera mountain pass, km 74
